Snaploc Camera/Video Inspection

  • Our technicians use a Snaploc Closed Circut Internal Evaluation System to inspect your chimney thoroughly. The camera allows us a 360-degree picture of the health and safety of your chimney and fireplace. Our technicians will inspect the entire chimney and fireplace from top to bottom. They will get up on the roof and check all the external structures of the chimney. They will then come inside your home and use our Snap-Loc camera to inspect the internal systems of your chimney and fireplace. Upon inspection completion, we will provide you with a detailed digital report.

Chimney Sweep (Camera Inspection Included)

  • As proud members of the National Chimney Guild, our certified technicians conduct comprehensive chimney inspections utilizing state-of-the-art camera technology to assess both internal and external structures. All findings, including pictures and measurements, are compiled into a detailed digital report promptly emailed to you. Within 24 hours, you'll receive a thorough scope of work for any required internal and external repairs.

Prior to sweeping, we take extra precautions by covering your fireplace opening with plastic and laying down tarps. Our sweeping process involves the use of power brushes to thoroughly clean the entire chimney flue, complemented by hand brushes to sweep the smoke chamber, smoke shelf, and firebox. Trust us to deliver a meticulous and efficient service, ensuring the safety and functionality of your fireplace system.

Ash Dump Cleanout

  • The ash pit is secure and constructed of durable masonry that keeps the heat inside the cavity. Cleaning the ash pit will remove ash and moisture that may be causing odors that you haven't even noticed. Our Technicians will remove all debris located inside the ash-dump container.

Obstruction Removal

  • Chimney obstructions come in many forms and sizes, from bird nests and squirrel nests to mortar and bricks. These obstructions can cause your appliance or fireplace not to vent properly, causing smoke or carbon monoxide to come back inside your home. Brick and Mortar obstructions can indicate severe water damage.

Rain Caps

Chimney Rain Cap Installed

  • Chimney Rain Caps are essential in maintaining your fireplace system's safety. By protecting the top of the flue, the chimney cap keeps animals, debris, and moisture out of the chimney while keeping sparks and embers off the roof. Our technicians will measure your flue size and determine what type of rain cap is needed. We use Stainless Steel Caps with a lifetime warranty attached.

Stainless Steel Energy Efficient Lock-top Damper

  • A Lock-Top Damper seals tight, so virtually no air, and thus no heat or air conditioning, gets lost up your chimney. The Lock-Top also eliminates downdrafts, seals out the rain, which can deteriorate the inside of your chimney, and prevents entry by pests like squirrels, raccoons, and nesting birds.

Chimney Bear will install the damper on the top flue tile. Our technicians will secure the damper with both screws and water-resistant sealing material. A stainless steel cable will be run down the entire length of the chimney and attached to the side of the firebox.

Wood Burning Stove Cap

  • Wood Stove Rain Caps are essential in maintaining your fireplace system's safety.

Appliance Chimneys

Appliance Chimney Visual Inspection

  • Chimney Bear prides itself on being certified by the National Chimney Guild. We will access your roof to check all of the external structures thoroughly. We will also access the appliance room to ensure the connection to the chimney is efficient. Appliance chimneys require an adequately installed liner to work efficiently. Our technicians will check that the liner is in good repair. We provide you with a digital report upon completion.

Appliance Chimney Rain Cap

  • Our Technicians will install the correct size appliance cap to meet the customer's needs. Price is dependent upon capsizing. If the lid is over 8", it may require a special order.

Chimney Rain Caps are essential in maintaining your fireplace system's safety. By protecting the top of the flue, the chimney cap keeps animals, debris, and moisture out of the chimney while keeping sparks and embers off the roof.

Furnace / Appliance Liner Installation

  • We will reline the heating appliance flue with a continuous, water and gas-tight, highly acid-resistant liner. We will install a rain cap on the top of the chimney to prevent water intrusion or animals. Stainless Steel liner has a manufacturer's lifetime warranty, including all parts. This lifetime warranty is only valid with annual inspections.

Gas Logs

Gas Log Kit Refresh (Camera Inspection Included)

  • Our technicians use a Snaploc Closed Circut Internal Evaluation System to inspect your chimney thoroughly. The camera allows us a 360-degree picture of the health and safety of your chimney and fireplace. Our technicians will inspect the entire chimney and fireplace from top to bottom. They will check all the external structures of the chimney. They will then come inside your home and use our Snap-Loc camera to inspect the internal systems of your chimney and fireplace. Upon inspection completion, we will provide you with a detailed digital report.

We will brush off the gas logs, clean burners, add/replace silica sand, and add/replace ember wool. This service excludes the addition of lava rocks. There is an additional charge per additional lava rock bag.

Ventless Gas Log Set Installation

  • Unlike vented gas logs, ventless gas logs do not need a chimney or flue to discard emissions. Ventless gas logs produce more heat than vented gas logs. As a result, more heat stays in the home. Our technicians will install your ventless Gas Log Set into your existing fireplace/opening. Please be advised that Ventless logs do not protect your chimney and fireplace.

Vented Gas Log Set Installation

  • You can install a vented gas log into your existing setup if you have a fully functioning and safe wood-burning fireplace. Customers must have a gas line installed inside the firebox and a shut-off valve on the external wall.

Internal Chimney Repairs

For any internal chimney repairs you may schedule your camera inspection here.

FireGuard Pure Ceramic Sealant

  • The FireGuard ceramic sealant is a high-duty, refractory mortar specifically designed to correct open mortar joints, thus negating the need to reline the flue. The 3,200-degree service temperature far exceeds the requirements for residential chimneys. Applied by chimney professionals, the unique FireGuard material forms solid, smooth, water, and acid-resistant joints throughout the entire flue area. Once correctly installed, the new FireGuard joints prevent the passage of flammable creosote through the joints, thus preventing the build-up of flammable creosote outside the flue area. In addition, the new FireGuard joints reduce heat transfer through the joints to the interior wall against the dwelling. Under the regular operation of a masonry chimney, FireGuard has a lifetime warranty.

Smoke Chamber Parging

  • When done with the suitable material, it offers several benefits: It will improve the chimney's safety and increase the structural integrity of the smoke chamber area. Typically improves the draft and performance of the fireplace, thus lowering creosote buildup within the chimney system.

We use "Chamber Safe" parging material. This material is high-heat resistant and fiberglass reinforced. It will also add structure to the smoke chamber and improve gas flow through the chimney.

Firebox Re-Pointing

  • Our technicians will tuckpoint the damaged joints only with refractory mortar.

Stainless Steel Fireplace Liner

  • Chimney liners are a protective barrier usually made of metal or terracotta tiles. Liners insulate heat moving through the chimney, protecting flammable areas of your home's structure. They also protect flue masonry from cracks or crumbling mortar due to repeated heating and cooling. We will reline the chimney flue with a continuous, water and gas-tight, highly acid-resistant liner.

Our technicians will install the liner from the top of the smoke chamber to the top of the chimney. The installation of the liner includes all necessary connections and insulation. A Stainless Steel liner comes with a manufacturer's lifetime warranty for all connectors. This lifetime warranty is only valid with annual inspections.

Our technicians will break out the original flue tiles to make room for the new stainless steel liner. Chimney liners need to be insulated to ensure peak performance. Chimney Bear insulated the liner and chimney in one of two ways. If you have a closed (filled) chase, we will use Thermix. Thermix is a poured insulation that will fill gaps and cracks between extra flues or fill-in materials. If your chimney chase is open (filled with air), we will wrap blanket insulation around the liner before inserting it into the chimney. Upon completion of relining, your fireplace, and chimney will be a sealed continuous system.

Refractory Panels Replacement

  • Prefabricated Fireplaces include Refractory Panels inside the firebox. Remove the original panel and replace it with a custom-cut refractory panel. These panels are manufactured with high thermal properties. There are four panels for the back, bottom, and sides, and we will replace the damaged panels only. Their purpose is to withstand the high heat of a fire, protecting the surrounding metal firebox. Without this protection, heat can transfer to the metal enclosure and cause it to warp, weaken, or worse- transfer heat to the surrounding combustibles, a fire hazard. Our technicians will replace panels that are cracked or damaged.

Log Lighter Bar Installation

  • Our Technicians will install a Log Lighter Bar to an existing gas line in the firebox. The Log Lighter Bar is beneficial in assisting clients to start a traditional wood fire quickly.

Wood Burning Stove Pipe Replacement

  • Our technicians will replace the exterior portion of the stove pipe. They will use a single-wall stove pipe and connect it to the interior stove pipe. This pipe is usually made from 24-gauge sheet metal. They will ensure the line maintains at least an 18-inch clearance from combustible material. The price includes the replacement parts and installation.

Firebox Painting

  • Our technicians will paint the entire firebox with high heat-resistant paint. This paint can help with the aesthetic look of a masonry firebox.

Fireplace Doors Installation

  • Fireplace doors create a more energy-efficient fireplace. When your fire is out or dwindling, closing the doors on your fireplace will prevent the warm air from escaping the chimney. Keeping the room's heat longer makes your fireplace a more efficient heat source. Our technicians will install the fireplace doors of your choice.

Exterior Chimney Repairs

For any exterior chimney repairs you may schedule your camera inspection here.

Chimney Crown Crack Repair

  • Cracks are considered normal wear and tear on a chimney crown over time. During all seasons, water can start to pool in these minor cracks. In the winter, this water constantly freezes and thaws. When water freezes, it expands by about ten percent turning small fissures into significant gaps. Our Technicians will use a Crown Crack Repair material to keep water out of the cracks, extending the crown's life.

Chimney Crown Wash Rebuild

  • We will remove the old wash and reconstruct a new one using the sand mix.

Masonry Chimney Rebuild

  • A total or complete chimney rebuild includes replacing the outside brick as well as the crown. Total rebuilding is often recommended when you're dealing with extensive damage. Structural flaws, such as when a chimney is leaning or falling apart, usually require complete rebuilds. We will deconstruct the chimney, rebuild it using as much of the original brick as possible, and add new brick as needed. The chimney will be rebuilt from the roofline and up. The crown will be re-poured or replaced depending on the size.

Chimney Removal

  • We will remove the chimney from the roof. We take care of the dumping of the old chimney materials. We will install the tarp that will temporarily cover the hole. New shingles will need to be added by a roofing company.

Chimney Surround Replacement

  • The purpose of a chimney surround is to dress up the appearance of a home by camouflaging and hiding the ugly or flue pipes sticking out of the roof. We will either install a new unit around an existing line or replace an old surround with a new one. The surroundings come in three different colors red, white, and tan.

Chimney Crown Resurfacing

  • When the crown becomes cracked or damaged, it can no longer protect the structure below it. When this occurs, your chimney can begin to disintegrate and break, and severe damage can happen to your entire chimney. If not repaired as soon as possible, further water damage will occur to the internal and external structures of your chimney/fireplace. Chimney Bear recommends applying "Crown Safe" to the chimney crown to seal and prevent further water intrusion.

Chimney Washed

  • The brick or stone of the chimney will be pressure-washed to remove vegetative growth.

Tuck-Pointing / Re-Pointing

  • Tuckpointing helps to prevent water from entering the chimney system. The missing mortar between joints can allow further water intrusion. Moisture can do a severe amount of unseen damage, such as causing mold, mildew, and rotting wood. Our masons will grind out the damaged mortar joints and replace the joints with fresh material. The material will either be a contrasting color or a color that matches the brick. The brick or stone of the chimney will be pressure-washed to remove vegetative growth.

Chimney Crown Rebuild

  • The chimney crown sheds water away from the top of the chimney. It will allow water into the chimney system when it becomes damaged or cracked. Water intrusion drops your chimney’s efficiency and raises fire risk. The crown must overhang the main structure to allow a drip edge to protect the chimney. We will remove old and damaged chimney crown and dispose of the materials. We will install a new crown with an overhang for a drip edge.

Chimney Waterproofing

  • We will apply chimney water repellent. WaterTite repellent works by penetrating bricks and mortar and allowing the bricks to breathe while keeping out water.

Chimney Chase Cover

  • Our Technicians will replace the existing Chase Cover with a custom measured Stainless Steel cover. The chase cover comes with a 2-1/2-inch skirt with a 1/4-inch drip edge. A cross break is added to let the water run off the body. This break also prevents wind from pulling up on the surface. The chase cover also includes a storm collar.

Counter-Flashing and Step-Flashing Repair

  • We will reseal the counter flashing with high-quality polyurethane sealer.

Other Services

Gutter Cleaning

  • We will remove all debris from the gutters using blowers and handheld shovels. Gutter cleaning starts at $195.00 price may increase on the size of the home and how many channels are attached to the home/garage.

Dryer Vent Cleaning

  • Technicians will connect a positive pressure machine to the dryer vent and use brushes to clean the lint. The dryer will be reconnected and vacuumed out.

Direct Vent Fireplace Installation

  • Direct-vent technology describes a gas-burning appliance that uses two pipes - often one smaller pipe within another larger tube - to exhaust the flue gases and generate fresh air for combustion. They are among the safest, most convenient, and most popular ways of adding a gas fireplace to your home. This price includes the installation of the Direct Vent Fireplace Unit with all exhaust and intake piping.
